Neubook is built to be private by default. Your reading happens on your device, and we collect as little as possible.
This policy explains what Neubook (“we”, “us”), a product of Upbrew, collects when you use the Neubook mobile app and website, how we use it, and the choices you have. By using Neubook you agree to this policy.
If you create an account, our authentication provider (Google Firebase Authentication) processes your email address and a unique user ID. If you sign in with Apple or Google, we receive the name and email you choose to share (Apple may relay a private email). We use this to identify your account and link your subscription.
Purchases are handled by the Apple App Store or Google Play and managed through RevenueCat. We receive your subscription status and a purchase identifier. We never receive or store your card or payment details — those stay with Apple or Google.
When you generate an audiobook, the text of the selected book or article is sent to our processing service (hosted on Cloudflare) and to a text-to-speech provider (DeepInfra) to produce the narration audio. Generated audio and a normalized copy of the text may be cached on our servers so the same content need not be re-processed. This is tied to your account ID for usage/credit accounting.
We use Google Firebase Analytics to understand how the app is used (for example, which features are opened and general performance), so we can improve Neubook. This is usage data, not the content of what you read. Analytics is on by default and you can turn it off at any time in the app’s settings.
If you enable cloud sync (where available), your library details, reading progress, and — if you choose — your book files are stored in your private area of our cloud storage (Cloudflare and Google Firebase), accessible only to your account. Sync is off unless you turn it on.
We may collect basic crash and error diagnostics to keep the app stable.
We share data only with the service providers needed to run Neubook — Google (Firebase), Apple, RevenueCat, Cloudflare, and DeepInfra — acting on our behalf, and only as needed to deliver the features above. We may disclose information if required by law. We do not sell your personal data.
Reading data on your device is removed when you delete the app. Account and subscription records are kept while your account is active. You can request deletion of your account and associated data at any time by emailing support@neubook.app. We will delete your account data within 30 days, except where we must keep records to meet legal or accounting obligations.
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export, or delete your personal data, and to object to certain processing. To exercise these rights, contact us at the address below.
Neubook is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age in your country), and we do not knowingly collect their data.
We use reputable providers and industry-standard measures to protect your data. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to safeguard your information.
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by the “Last updated” date above and, where appropriate, noted in the app.
